


REAL MYST POINTER PC
Myst va ser el joc de PC més venut de tots els temps, fins que The Sims ha superat les seves vendes el 2002. Al seu llançament, Myst va ser una gran sorpresa, amb crítics elogiant la capacitat del joc per submergir als jugadors en el món de ficció. El joc té diversos finals, depenent de les decisions preses pel jugador. Les pistes trobades en cadascuna d'aquestes Edats ajuden a revelar el rerefons dels personatges del joc. Allà, el jugador utilitza altres llibres especials escrits per un artesà i explorador anomenat Atrus per viatjar a diversos mons coneguts com a «Ages» (Edats). Myst posa el jugador en el paper del Stranger (Estrany), que utilitza un llibre especial per viatjar a l'illa de Myst. Remakes i ports del joc s'han llançat per a Microsoft Windows, Windows Mobile, Sega Saturn, PlayStation,, AmigaOS, CD-i, 3DO, PlayStation Portable, Nintendo DS i l'iPhone OS pels editors Midway Games, Sunsoft i. Els Miller van començar a treballar en Myst el 1991 i el llançaren per a l'ordinador Macintosh el 24 de setembre de 1993 va ser el projecte més gran de Cyan fins ara. Va ser desenvolupat per «Cyan Worlds», un estudi amb seu a Spokane, Washington, i publicat i distribuït per. Myst és un videojoc d'aventura gràfica editat el 1993 i dissenyat i dirigit pels germans Robyn i Rand Miller.Really hoping they fix this, cause it really isn't fun to fight with a game's basic controls. Except they've also gone and gotten rid of the original realMyst's mouse-drive (click and hold LMB and you will move forward, like W) which was the only good thing about realMyst's navigation that made it bareable. Myst 5 got it exactly right, but it seems that for RM:ME Cyan made controls too similar to realMyst. That was a large part of the reason navigation and interaction in the original realMyst was so terribly awkward.

The original realMyst didn't have the distinction between a locked and unlocked cursor, so it had some kind of zone at the edge of the screen which will detect the cursor and pan in that direction. That last bit is actually pretty important. And when the cursor was locked, and moved to the edge of the screen, it did NOT pan the view. RMB click again to lock the cursor and freely look around again. Exactly like any other FPS, and with a simple RMB click you unlock the cursor so you can move it around the screen.

Myst 5's free move controls were perfect. Yet surprisingly Cyan has implemented it incorrectly here. Without that mode I just stick with the FPS style control scheme. But classic-plus is the perfect combination for a 3d adventure title. And of course with WASD controls your constantly holding the keys, normal fare for pretty much every game out there. But from the user perspective, classic mode involves far too much clicking. I can understand if it wasn't a priority, and would take a lot of effort to implement. Unfortunately this game doesn't have classic-plus mode, which was my personal favorite.
REAL MYST POINTER PLUS
It had classic, classic plus (click to move around the room, but free to look around), and a free move mode (like typical FPS controls). Personally I'd prefer Cyan replicate they control scheme they had in Myst 5. But I just got the game, and the controls are really a major turn off and really get in the way of just moving around the game in comfortable fashion.
